South Siskyou County Growth in 2022
Dunsmuir, McCloud, Weed, Weed, Mt. Shasta, and communities located at the base of Mount Shasta are poised to prosper in the 21st century. By teaming up as a region, and cooperating in ways that generate mutual benefits, the Shasta Go Local campaign aims to bolster locally owned businesses, while saving money for local residents.
How it Works
• Businesses and organizations join by providing incentives for Shasta Local residents.
• Patrons buy an annual card (~$100).
• Patrons use their Shasta Local card to get discounts at participating venues.
• Distribution sites offer local residents memberships for a small percentage of each sale.
• The Shasta Local campaign committee sends monthly newsletters and daily social media updates to keep participants and patrons informed about news, events, and more.
How to Participate
• In the spirit of cooperation, our goal is to energize economic vitality in the region by motivating area residents to support locally owned businesses.
• Businesses, institutions, and organizations can be listed as a participant by providing a discount (percentage of total, or fixed-dollar amount), voucher, incentive, or gift that suits your business model.
• Patrons purchase a card from a local distributor for a reasonable fee, to be redeemed many times over at local businesses and venues.
Benefits of Participation
• Save money while supporting local businesses.
• Receive free advertisement through monthly newsletters and social media.
• Become part of a burgeoning network of individuals and businesses that love living and working in Siskiyou County, and want to maintain and improve our quality of life.
• Replace the stack of frequent purchasing cards in your wallet, with one easy card that grants you access to discounts for locals.
• Accelerate prosperity-mentality in the region through a cooperative effort to attract and retain small-to-medium-sized, locally-owned businesses.
